Covalent is the leading solution to the blockchain data provision market, but we can’t just hoard all that precious high-quality data ourselves, so we decided to host this crypto-data competition. Aside from plenty of activities that do not necessarily require data-related skillsets, but rather a sharp mind and/or a creative vision (such as our upcoming Quest or Art competition), we also host plenty of data science challenges, all enabled by Covalent’s powerful blockchain indexers. So if you are an up and coming blockchain data analyst (or just a hobbyist, we don’t discriminate), come check our challenges!
How to Play
First of all, get familiar with the XP and level system. If you want to get loot, you have to understand how to collect it! After that check out all of the different tasks that might fit your skillset - we have something for everyone. You can participate in art competitions, content writing competitions, hunt bounties, or, of course, do some data magic!
XP and Rewards System
Dungeons and Data has an XP system, which, in essence, dictates how much loot you can get at the end of the competition. The higher level you get, the better your loot is. You can earn XP points by winning the challenges. In short, 1 XP = 1 USDT.
Here is the breakdown of the XP system:
Challenges
There are nine challenges:
1. Twitter Bard
Spread the word across Twitter about Covalent: follow our twitter and retweet the announcement post. Optional; explain what is Covalent using the #whycovalent hashtag. Winners will be chosen by a draw; accounts with higher amounts of retweets have higher chances of winning!
- Number of winners: 23
- Reward: 50 USDT/winner (20 winners), 100 USDT (3 winners)

2. Pen Assassin
Create and publish an original article on one of the following topics:
- What is Covalent?
- Why Covalent?
- What problems can be solved with Covalent?
These are open topics. Participants can pick their own topic to write about so long as it is relevant to Covalent. The articles must be original, interesting and written in the English language.
- Number of winners: 10
- Reward: 200 USDT/winner
- Dates: October 14 - November 18
3. Master Artist
Create original graphics that are relevant to Covalent. This can be an infographic piece, explanation piece or even an art piece. Express your creativity!
- Number of winners: 15
- Reward: 200 USDT/winner
- Dates: October 14 - November 18
4. Quiz Ranger
Be the first one to correctly answer a quiz question. 10 quiz questions are to be posted on the Covalent Telegram Channel at a random time every weekday. Make sure to check it regularly!
- Total amount of questions: 140
- Reward: 10 USDT/question
- Dates: October 15 - November 3
5. Puzzle Paladin
Join the quest to unravel complicated puzzles. There will be 7 rounds of puzzles on various topics such as Data Science, Cryptocurrency and others. The goal is to answer a specific question and then complete the sequence of challenging (but fun) intellectual tasks - decipher the encoded messages, solve riddles and find hidden clues.
18 participants, who finish the puzzle within the time limit, will be selected at random and receive 50 USDT each. The best answer to the question will also receive an additional 50 USDT.

6. Data Barbarian: Write-Up
Every participant has to create the most persuasive post on the topic “Why does blockchain data matter to the crypto space?”. The participants aren’t limited with regards to content or the form. It can be a single post with an image only, a slogan, a Twitter thread, a personal anecdote, a blog or a story. The main criteria according to which the posts will be judged is “Does this post explain why careful provision of blockchain data is important? Is the post persuasive?”
- Number of Winners: 13
- First place: 500USDT
- Second place: 300USDT
- Third place: 200USDT
- Forth Place: 100USDT
- 5th-13th Place: 50USDT
- Dates: October 14 - November 18
